I'll explain it in the following way. In 1969 when I was in the first grade , growing up in rural Alabama in the winter, it was in thirty-six degrees outside. And I had to go to school barefoot. Shoes were not allowed. I'm not saying this for sentimental reasons or to tell a sad story. However, I can recall my brother being just a few blocks further away from the home. I'm at the front door. There was a sister standing a short distance from him,, and my other sister was waiting at the bus stop. My sister who was at the bus stop saw that the bus was on top a couple of blocks away, she would yell at my sister. She would shout to my brother, and then my brother would yell at me. After that, I'd run out the door barefoot. At the point that my brother got to my sister's house I'd probably caught him by the time he reached me. The moment we got on the road, I was 15 to 20 yards ahead of my sister and brother. From walking to school in sandals during the winter of '69 to growing up and having sneakers that were inspired by my own ... I was blessed.

After 30 odd odd years, people still brag about the shoe and even collect the shoe. Recently a close friend of mine, Anthony Anderson, the comedian, texted me: 'Hey, Bo! I'm performing a show on the sneakers I own. I'm unable to locate the Air trainers you have. I'm in need from your collection! It happened that I had a pair sitting on my desk. I said, 'Hey, well, I got a pair here. You can send these to you.' It's moments like that where I sit back and think, "Wow.'

For this NFL season, New York Giants running back Nike sportsman Saquon Barkley received his very own rendition of Air Trainer 3. What was it like to have him pay homage you through the sneaker?

I blessed him with those shoes. It was as if I was saying"Grasshopper! It's the time now to carry this torch. It's your responsibility to take it seriously. I'm sure Saquon will perform a superb job at it. Saquon is a great kid. He reminds me of cheap Madden nfl 22 coins a bit of me. He's fast and strong, and keeps his head straight. That's what impresses me most. It's not his statistics. I like the way he conducts himself.
